limestone home objects
Limestone Home Objects is a collection of domestic objects made of limestone dust sourced from Maltese quarries. Inspired by the limestone heritage of the Maltese islands, the objects investigate how limestone can be used in a contemporary way while in dialogue with its contextual significance.

When thinking about how limestone could be leveraged in the service of contemporary needs we identified limestone dust, which is a byproduct of the quarrying process, as having the potential to be reimagined. We experimented with different ways of repurposing limestone dust and eventually created a composite material which allowed for the development of a wider range of forms and applications while still retaining all the qualities that attracted us to the material in the first place.

Each piece in this collection is handmade and the production of each one is an intimate experience which references a more primal relationship with the stone.
The collection was exhibited at the Malta Society of Arts in Valletta from the 27th to 29th of May, titled on an island where limestone pretend to grow
